Trails Council seeks applicants for Associate Director position
In an effort to build on the momentum of our trail efforts, Top of Michigan Trails Council is adding a new position to its current two-person staff. As of March 11, 2019 this position has been filled.**
Associate Director for trail advocacy organization
Top of Michigan Trails Council is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the development, maintenance and promotion of multi-use trails in Northern Michigan. TOMTC is seeking to hire an Associate Director (AD). This is a new position, and we are looking for a high-performing professional who would be responsible for managing day-to-day tactical activities of the Trails Council. These activities would involve advocating for development of new trails, and maintaining and promoting the use of existing trails.
The position will require the AD to work closely with the Administrative Assistant to manage program strategies including direct mail, special events, sponsorships and grant proposal writing.
The AD will spend a considerable amount of time coordinating TOMTC’s Festival of Races and will work with the Administrative Assistant to coordinate the annual meeting, the annual dinner, the Lake to Lake Bike Tour and other events. The Associate Director will also be responsible for coordinating volunteers. This position requires overseeing various projects and events to completion.
This position also supports the Executive Director from time to time in more strategic projects.
The ideal candidate for this position will be detail oriented and will possess strong time management skills. A bachelors degree in a related field is required, as well as two years of relevant experience. An understanding of nonprofit management is desirable.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- Salary: $30,000 – $35,000
- Benefits: Vacation and sick leave
