Trail of the Week: Huron Sunrise Trail
Over the weekend, Top of Michigan Trails Council made this a week’s Trail of the Week post an excuse to have staff and family outing. We practiced Recreating Responsibly and made our way to Rogers City to start our adventure along the Huron Sunrise Trail.
Utilizing city streets and dedicated trail, this great 11 mile route takes you just south of Rogers City all the way north to Forty Mile Point Lighthouse Park, connecting you to all the parks in-between along the Lake Huron Shoreline. The Sunset Shore of Michigan gets a lot of press, but this Sunrise side trail is sure worth the trek.

Hoeft State Park
The Trail looks like it ends north of Hoeft State Park
But if you carefully use the road, or park your bike and walk, you get to Forty Mile Point Lighthouse Park
